HOLY CRAP, I’M BACK FROM THE GRAVE.

Filed under: Editwhorial — EJ @ 9:09 pm

Some of you might have meandered over here from time to time and wondered why this blog, which had a large readership, was deeply linked on dozens of other blogs, etc etc suddenly disappeared from existence.

There was a point a few months ago when I said, “Fuck it. I don’t care anymore.”

I’ve been mulling over the death of this once and future joy of mine, wondering how and why I managed to give up on this project and let it nearly go the way of the dodo.

The truth is, folks, I really just hit the point where I no longer cared. I said, “This is not making me an income, nobody’s reading this, I have nothing to add right now, so it should die.”

As has been pointed out to me on numerous occasions, this fallacious methodology has been the vainglorious death of too many writers of blogs like mine. So, I’m going to put this blog into rehabilitation. I’m going to try and breathe some life back into it. I’ve found a purpose.

In the interim, I started doing updates in secret over at my Tumblr blog (a portion of which I’ve imported here for those too lazy or apathetic to click). I find that Tumblr has been a much more gratifying and social blogging experience all around. But I can’t keep this dead.

My purpose here, for the next 54 days, will be to follow carefully the election unfolding before our eyes and ears. I want to, rather than do the “he said/she said” bullshit everyone else is doing, stay focused on the issues that are going to affect everyone in the coming Presidential election. I want people who visit me to read this blog knowing that I may, too often, take a swipe at one candidate or the other for their behaviour or their attitude. Why? Because politicians are just people. They’re as fault-ridden as the rest of us; none of them walk on water, not even the ones I’m voting for.

So let’s just say, I’m going to keep everyone honest and treat this as a mechanism from which I attempt to resurrect and rebuild my own faith in humanity at the same time.

Also, one of the candidates in this election has a track record of preaching the “pray away the gay” methodology, one which sickens and repulses me to the core of my being. So, let me start by keeping her honest, asking that she be exposed for the talking head fraud that she is instead of the unifying maverick she purports to be.

I want everyone to talk. Talk amongst yourselves. Talk to your friends and neighbors. It is time for change in this country. We are, even those of us who claim to be so well-off, long suffering and in need of more than a band aid.

Now, bear with me as the content is migrated. Everything’s not working perfectly yet, and it might be a couple of weeks before it does. Just be patient. So beginneth the next chapter in this journey of our lives. Put on your seat belts, it’s a bumpy ride.
